A couple of weeks ago I shared that there is a craft fair coming soon and I showed you one of the 2 projects that I would be offering at my workshop table. Today I want to show you my second card idea. It is a stunner and is super easy to create. 

When I signed up for a craft fair table I decided that I  wanted to take one stamp set and how everyone how easy it is to make 2 completely different card ideas with it. I chose the Changing Leaves stamp set. 

 

Yes, I could take the whole bundle to the craft show but I challenged myself to only use the stamp set, inks and paper. And I did it!

Paper and cutting dimensions:
            Pumpkin Pie: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" 
            Real Red: (2) 5 1/2" x 1/2"

Ink: Old Olive; Mossy Meadow

Paper and cutting dimensions
                        Basic White: 8 ½” x 5 ½”; 2” square; (2) 2 ¾” x 2”; 3 ¾” x 2 ½”
                        Old Olive: 4 ¼” square

Season of Green & Gold: 5 ¼” x 4”

Early Espresso: (2) ½” x 1”; ¾” x 1”

Misc: Season of Green & Gold Designer Series Paper (164324); Spotlight on Nature Dies (163580); Multipurpose Liquid Glue; Stampin’ Dimensionals; Embossing Paste (141979); Small Blending Brushes (160518)

Instructions

1. Fold Basic White in half and crease to create card base.
2. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere Season of Green & Gold layer to card base.
3. Lay Frosted Forest template 1 over Basic White (large tree). Ink Small Blending Brush and apply Old Olive ink. Using same template and ink, repeat for 2 smaller trees.
4. Lay Frosted Forest template 2 over Basic White (large tree). Ink Small Blending Brush and apply Mossy Meadow ink. Using same template and ink, repeat for 2 smaller trees.
5. Lay Frosted Forest template 3 over Basic White (large tree). Apply Embossing paste over template using Palette Knife. Repeat process for smaller trees. Wash palette knife and masks immediately using cool water. Set aside to dry.
6. When embossing paste dries, die-cut the 3 trees. Adhere Early Espresso ‘tree trunks’ to each tree.
7. Die-cut Old Olive Spotlight on Nature circle. Adhere to card base
8. Ink ‘thank you’ phrase using Old Olive ink and stamp onto Basic White. Die-cut using small Spotlight on Nature Die. Adhere to Old Olive circle, slightly offset
9. Adhere large tree to card front.
10. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, attach 2 smaller trees to card front slightly overlapping large tree.

It's time for a fun fold card challenge

Yay, I love a good fun fold card challenge!

So when I saw this week's Paper Craft Crew notice I was happy to join in. 

You may not have heard but on 4 September Stampin' Up! is releasing a new mini catalog and so today I am going to use some of the new products in that mini. 

I decided on a fairly easy fun fold to feature the gorgeous new Nests of Winter designer series paper which coordinates with the equally gorgeous new Winterly Treetops bundle. I am not permitted to share photos of these products just yet, so you will have to feast your eyes on my card to get an idea. Here's my card closed:

• Crumb Cake (die cut circle): 3” x 3”

• Basic White (greeting & hanger die cut): scrap

Instructions:

 

1. Fold the Basic White card stock in half on the scoreline to form the card base.
2. Stamp the greeting on the scrap piece of Basic White cardstock with Moody Mauve ink.
3. On the Designer Series Paper, stamp the baby onesie image with the Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
4. Colour the sleeves, necks and leg accents on the stamped baby onesie with the Light Moody Mauve Blends marker. Colour the back of the onesie (just above the collar) with the Dark Moody Mauve Blends marker.
5. On the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, die-cut out the baby onesie from the stamped Designer Series Paper with the matching dies from the Cutest Onesie Dies.
6. On the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, die-cut out the baby hanger from the scrap leftovers of Basic White cardstock with the Cutest Onesie Dies.
7. Wrap the Linen Thread around the embossed Moody Mauve cardstock three times and finish at the bottom front right-hand side card by tying it in a bow.
8. Attach the Moody Mauve cardstock to the card base.
9. Attach the Crumb Cake die-cut circle to the front of the card.
10. Insert the hanger into the neck of the onesie.
11. Attach the Onesie to the die-cut circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
12. With Stampin' Dimensionals, attach the greeting to the left-hand side of the card over the Linen Thread.
13. Add one Brushed Brass Butterfly accent to the front of the onesie and two more butterflies to the front of the card.
14. Use the Take Your Pick Tool to add two small Iridescent Foil Gems to the bottom of the onesie where the snaps would be.

Hello fellow crafters! Today I have a gorgeous Changing Leaves pocket card idea to show you. I will be using some beautiful designer series paper that I bet you didn’t know is still available to purchase!

Cutting & Scoring:

Gold Textured Metallic Specialty Paper Instructions:

1. Fold all the scored lines and crease with the bone folder.
2. Cut all the Dies with the Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine.
3. Stamp ‘Happy Holiday’s” in Garden Green to the right side of the Very Vanilla Hexagon
4. Find DSP with 2 Gold Bells and fuzzy cut them out.  Add dimensional to the back of bells.
5. Adhere the flap down.  Adhere the 1” stripe to the flap
6. Stamp the ‘May your Holiday Season be filled with Warmth and Cheerful Celebration’ to the inside layer top of the inside layer.  (You shouldn’t see this sentiment.)
7. Adhere the Very Vanilla hexagon to the gold texture hexagon with dimensional to the front of card.
8. Add the bells to the left of Very Vanilla hexagon to complete your card! Easy, right?

You need to try this colorful technique

This week's Paper Craft Crew card sketch challenge really got me going creatively!

I decided to create a colorful background layer on my card using the Leaf Collection stamp:

This lovely background stamp is the perfect size to serve as the backdrop for your cards. The leaves intertwine to create a lovely pattern that’s perfect for coloring. Add some fall colors to warm the look (like I did on today's card) or go with shades of green for lovely foliage. If you want to step up the look, you can even fussy cut the center leaves and use them as layering pieces.

I haven't used this stamp very much which is too bad because there are so many ways to use it. 

Here's how I created my card:

• using Blending brushes, I applied 3 colors of ink over an entire layer of Basic White - Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Peach Pie. 
• I inked up the Leaf Collection stamp using Versamark ink and then laid the colored Basic White layer down on top, inked side pressed into the stamp
• I covered the Basic White layer with Clear embossing powder and then heat set it. 
• Next I smeared Memento Tuxedo Black ink over the entire embossed layer
• Finally I took a tissue to wipe off the black ink - it will only wipe off the embossed sections!

Here's my creation:

I love how it smeared a bit, making my layer look aged and rustic.

Hooray to ha-pea paper crafts with the Sweet Peas stamp set!

Paper: Lemon Lolly; Soft Sea Foam; Basic Black; Basic White 

Misc: Deckled Circles Dies (162286); Spotlight On Nature Dies (163580); Eyelet 3 D Embossing Folder (163414); Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack (161673); Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (154902); Baker's Twine Essentials Pack (155475)

 Instructions:

1. Cut Lemon Lolly cardstock to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Score at 4 1/4" on the long side and fold for card base.
2. Cut a Soft Sea Foam panel to 3 1/2" x 5 1/2". Cut a circle from the center of this panel (it will be covered up) using the 10th largest Deckled Circles Die. Attach panel (with hole) to front of cardbase approximately 1/4" from the bottom.
3. Next, cut a Basic White panel to 3 1/4" x 5 1/2" and emboss with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to Soft Sea Foam panel on card base (covering the hole).
4. Cut a Basic Black circle using the 11th largest Deckled Circles Die. Adhere to the center of the Soft Sea Foam Circle.
5. Cut a Basic White circle using one of the 4th largest Spotlight on Nature Dies. Stamp the baby pea in Memento Tuxedo Black and color with Blends. Adhere over the black circle (these are the same size).
6. Stamp the greeting on a 3/4" strip of Basic White and cut the end diagonally with your Paper Snips. Cut a 1/2" strip of Soft Sea Foam and Lemon Lolly and cut the ends diagonally. Adhere these three strips together and attach to card.
7. Use Dimensionals to attach the circles to the card.
8. Finally, embellish with a black twine bow.

 

This challenge is the perfect way to use your leftover paper

This week's Paper Craft Crew challenge is the perfect way to feature (and use up!) your leftover paper bits.

When I saw this challenge I knew immediately that I wanted to use some leftover Full of Life paper. 

I cannot believe how many cards I have been able to create using 1 pack of this paper. And I still have a lot left over for future projects. 

As this week's layout is pretty simple, I thought I would keep my card pretty simple too. For the phrase I used my Simply Said stamp set (such a great value!) and Spotlight on Nature dies:

 

 

Here's my card using the above sketch: 

 

I doubt that you need instructions on how to make this card, right? Tip: layer the Full of Life pieces onto a layer of Basic Black, then onto the Basic White cardbase for a standout look.

Supplies:

Stamps – Encircled in Nature Bundle (163629)

Inks – Pecan Pie (161665), Early Espresso (147114)

Paper including cutting dimensions        
        Pool Party Cardstock [CS] (122924) – 2 pieces 8 ¼” x 4 ¼” scored at 2 ¼”, 4”, 6 ¼”; one piece 4 ¼” x 4 ¼”
        Basic White Cardstock [CS] (101650)– 4” x 2”
        Mossy Meadow Cardstock [CS] (133676) – 2 ½” x 2 ½” with adhesive sheet on the back
        Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper [DSP] (163303) – 2 pieces 4” x 2” for outside panels, 2 pieces 4” x 1 ½” for center panels, one piece 4” x 4” for center of card – see photo for designs used.

Note: 'V" means valley fold, "M" means mountain fold

 

 

 

Accessories – Adhesive sheet (152334), Stampin’ Seal (152813) or Multipurpose Liquid Glue 110755), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Tear & Tape (154031), Linen Thread (104199), Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653) or Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (150673)

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Make a mountain fold at the 2 ¼” score line, and valley folds on the other two score lines. Repeat on the second piece.
2. Add the DSP to the outside, middle panels and to the large square. Also adhere the Basic White Cardstock to one of the wider panels on the back for a place to sign the card and add a greeting.
   
3. Stamp the twig wreath with Pecan Pie ink and the greeting with Early Espresso ink on the DSP square.
4. Apply Adhesive sheet to back of Mossy Meadow CS. Then die-cut the evergreen trees and apply to the square.
5. Position the two long pieces with the mountain folds on the outside edges as shown in photo 2.
6. Apply Tear & Tape as shown to the two center flaps and adhere the 4 ¼” square.
7. Loop the linen thread 3 or 4 times around your fingers with about a 4 in length loop. Flatten the loop and tie it in an overhand knot. Trim ends and apply to card front with a glue dot.

Tip: The sides fold under the large square so the card fits in a medium envelope.

            Mossy Meadow: 1 1/2" x 3 1/4" 
            Season of Green & Gold: 3 3/4" x 55: (2)  1 1/4" x 3 1/4"

You need to try this beautiful inking technique

As the crisp air of autumn begins to settle in soon, it's the perfect time to immerse ourselves in the vibrant colors and cozy feelings of the season. What better way to capture the essence of fall than with Stampin' Up!'s stunning Changing Leaves stamp set and coordinating dies?

The Changing Leaves stamp set is a must-have for any paper crafter who loves the late summer and fall season. This set features a variety of intricate leaf designs, from delicate veins to bold and graphic shapes. The coordinating dies make cutting out these gorgeous leaves a breeze, allowing you to add dimension and texture to your projects effortlessly.

This Changing Leaves card has a fun technique for ink application and the results are amazing.

Here’s how to make this card.

Supplies:

• Stamp Sets – Changing Leaves (bundle:164139)
• Card Stock – Basic White (159276); Blueberry Bushel (146968)
• Stamp Pads – Blueberry Bushel (147138); Berry Burst (147143); Lost Lagoon (161678)
• Misc. – Full of Life 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper (DSP) (163357); Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755); Iridescent Faceted Gems (163368); Sponge Daubers (133773); 2023-25 In Color Jute Trim Pack (161637); Mini Glue Dots (103683)

Measurements: 

• Basic White 8 ½” x 5 ½”; 2” square; 5 ½” x 4”
• Blueberry Bushel: 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”
• Full of Life: (2) 2 ¼” x 3 ¾”; 4” x 5 ¼”

Instructions:

1. Fold Basic White card stock in half and crease to create card base.
2. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere Blueberry Bushel layer and then (2) Full of Life designer series paper to card front.
3. Using Sponge Daubers, sponge Blueberry Bushel, Berry Burst and Lost Lagoon ink to large leaf image. Die-cut.

4. Attach sponged leaf to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
5. Ink sentiment phrase with Berry Burst ink and stamp onto Basic White square. Die-cut using circle die. Adhere to card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
6. Create blue Jute Trim bow and attach to leaf using Mini Glue Dot.
7. Add 3 Iridescent Faceted Gems to complete card.
